Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

morphcam lets you film a few seconds of yourself and become someone else entirely. To do that, we have to handle the video you record — which contains your face and likeness. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the controls you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version.Your video is uploaded, processed to create your morph, and then deleted on a short schedule (sources within 48 hours, finished morphs within 30 days). We do not build facial-recognition templates, we do not use your face to identify you, and we do not sell your personal information. You can ask us to delete everything at any time.

1. Who we are

morphcam (“morphcam”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an app and website operated by an independent sole operator based in Costa Rica. For the purposes of data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California privacy laws, that operator is the “data controller” responsible for your information.

Operator of record: [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [MAILING ADDRESS], Costa Rica. The fastest way to reach us about anything in this policy is hello@morphcam.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to the morphcam mobile app (iOS and Android), the website at morphcam.com (including share pages and referral links), and the backend services that power them. It does not cover third-party services that have their own privacy policies — for example the Apple App Store or Google Play — which are linked where relevant below.

3. Information we collect

Videos, images, and your likeness

When you create a morph, you upload a short video you have recorded. That video contains your face, body, voice, and surroundings. We process the video — and a single still frame derived from it — to generate your morphed result. This is the most sensitive information we handle, and we treat it accordingly:

Depending on your jurisdiction, facial or voice data may be considered “biometric” or “sensitive” personal information. Where that is the case, we rely on your consent — given when you choose to upload a video and tap to create a morph — and we limit our use to the purposes described here. You can withdraw that consent by deleting your content or your account.

Account and identity information

Subscription and purchase information

Paid plans and credit top-ups are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed for us by RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status, plan, store of purchase, renewal date, and a RevenueCat customer identifier. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number — that is handled by Apple or Google.

Device and technical information

Usage and analytics

We use Usermaven to understand how the app and site are used — for example app opens, screens viewed, paywall views, and completed morphs. This is tied to an anonymous analytics identifier and, once you sign in, your account ID. We use it in aggregate to improve the product, not to profile you individually.

Referrals, waitlist, and communications

4. How we use your information

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: consent (for processing your uploaded video/likeness and for non-essential analytics), performance of a contract (to deliver the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service), and legal obligation (to meet our legal duties).

5. How your morph is made (AI processing)

morphcam uses third-party AI providers to generate your result. When you create a morph, your re-encoded video and a character reference image are sent over secure links to fal.ai, which runs the generative models (including Kling and image-editing models) that produce the output. These providers process your content to perform the transformation and return the result to us. We send the minimum needed to complete your render, and the links we use expire.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers (“subprocessors”) who help us run morphcam, each handling only what their function requires:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer (for example, if the service changes hands). We will tell users of any such transfer.

7. International data transfers

We and our subprocessors operate in several countries, including the United States. When your information moves across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses) where required by law. By using morphcam you understand your information may be processed outside your home country.

8. How long we keep your data

9. Your choices and rights

You can delete an individual morph from the app at any time. To delete your entire account and associated personal data, email hello@morphcam.com from the address on your account (or include your account details) and we will action it. Deleting your account removes your renders, profile, and related records; some minimal records may be retained where the law requires.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

California residents: we do not “sell” or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those described here. You may exercise your rights using the contact above.

To make any request, email hello@morphcam.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, signed and expiring links for media, and short retention windows that limit how long sensitive content exists. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to delete it as soon as it is no longer needed.

11. Children’s privacy

morphcam is intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Users under the age of majority where they live should only use morphcam with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and paid purchases require an adult (see the Terms of Service). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact hello@morphcam.com and we will delete it.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for example, to keep you signed in and to protect forms) and our analytics provider may set or read identifiers to measure usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.

13. App stores

When you download morphcam or make a purchase, the Apple App Store or Google Play also processes information under their own policies. Please review Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as morphcam evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use morphcam after a change means you accept the updated policy.

15. Contact us
