Delete your account
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This page explains how to permanently delete your morphcam account and the data attached to it. You can do it yourself from inside the app in under a minute, or ask us to do it for you. You do not need an account or a login to read this page.
Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel a morphcam+ subscription. Only Apple and Google can do that, and if you skip it you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists. Cancel in Google Play subscriptions or Apple subscriptions before you delete.
1. Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
- Open morphcam.
- Tap the settings gear in the top right.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. If you still have an active subscription, the app will warn you and offer to open your store settings first.
2. Or ask us to delete it
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your sign-in, or would simply rather we did it, email hello@morphcam.com with the subject Delete my account.
Send it from the email address you signed in with, or tell us the Google or Apple account you used, so we can find the right record. We do not need any other personal information, and we will never ask you for a password.
3. What gets deleted
Deletion is permanent and immediate. It cannot be undone, and we cannot recover anything afterwards. It removes:
- Every morph you have made, including the finished video files in our storage
- Any source clips, derived frames, and audio still within their 48-hour retention window
- Your profile, name, email address, and sign-in records
- Your subscription record and your remaining seconds balance, including any unspent top-up seconds
- Your push notification tokens, so notifications stop
- Reports you have filed, and reports filed about your morphs
- Your active sessions on every device
Save anything you want to keep to your camera roll before you start. Unspent seconds are not refundable, so it is worth spending them first.
4. What we keep, and why
Two things deliberately survive deletion. Neither identifies you.
- A record that the account was deleted— the account identifier, the action, and the date. We keep this so we can answer “did you delete my data, and when?” if you or a regulator ever ask. It contains no morphs, no email address, and no video.
- A marker that this device already used its free morph. The first morph is free per device. Without this marker, deleting and recreating an account would mint unlimited free renders, which we pay for. It is tied to the device, not to you, and holds no personal information.
Analytics events that were already recorded are aggregate and not linked back to your account after deletion. Anything you shared publicly — a morph you sent to someone, or posted elsewhere — is outside our control and stays wherever you put it.
5. How long it takes
Deleting from inside the app is immediate: the media is purged from storage first, then the records are removed. Email requests are handled by a person, so allow up to 30 days, though in practice it is usually the same week. We will confirm by reply when it is done.
